EAL Academy is Different
When comparing EAL Academy with other trainings, there are a few important distinctions
At EAL Academy, we do things differently. Our accelerated and experiential trainings are designed to be simple, effective, and transformative, so you can start facilitating right away without ongoing fees or hidden costs. Plus, we provide ongoing support for your EAL program. This is what sets us apart:
✔ Simple, Fast, High Quality Training
We have been training others to facilitate EAL since 2007. We provide complete, straightforward, and practical training experiences, with no future financial obligations. We train in small groups (typically 6 - 12) where everyone can get to know each other, has the opportunity to have their questions answered, and has a personalized experience.
✔ Comprehensive Materials & Immediate Readiness
Pre-work ensures more hands-on time with horses during the trainings. Our resources include step-by-step guides, forms, templates, tools, and samples built from 20+ years of experience. Simply add your branding and you're prepared to lead EAL programs right after each training.
✔ Lifetime Certification
Knowledge-based certifications rooted in a coaching model. No memberships or ongoing fees required. You choose when and how to invest in continuing education and our goal is to earn your future education investments.
✔ Proven Results
99.9% of past attendees recommend our trainings
98.6% overall satisfaction rating
You can recover your investment by hosting a few EAL programs
✔ EAL Business Building Support
Running an EAL businesses requires the same dedication as any other business. While we focus on EAL aspects - marketing, pricing, program design - we also encourage you to seek out local resources for general business development and professional services. Together, this combination sets you up for success.
✔ More than Training - Ongoing Support & Community
We're transparent, supportive, and share everything we've learned since 2003 so you can succeed. At any point we'll answer your EAL questions. We encourage the groups that train together to continue to be a support to each other, and, after attending any of our trainings, we'll connect you with our community of past attendees. Our goal is simple: to help you create meaningful experiences where people learn and grow through the wisdom of horses.

Yes, our EAL Facilitator Model is Different
Prior Experience
We welcome adults from all backgrounds - no professional degree or qualifications are required to attend our trainings. If you do have professional experience, you'll likely find it enhances the way you work with clients and build your programs.
Educational, Not Therapeutic
Our model is educational rather than therapeutic, using an experiential coaching approach. Many programs in the field lean on medical or therapeutic models, while our focus remains firmly within the learning context. In our EAL Accelerated Facilitator Certification, we emphasize the importance of maintaining this boundary and we provide simple, effective techniques to ensure you do so.
Our model does not require a licensed mental health professional as part of your facilitation team. However, if you hold therapeutic credentials, all of our horse activities and facilitation methods can be easily used in a therapeutic setting.
Facilitation Team
For the best client experience - and to ensure safety - we recommend at least two human facilitators for group programs. It's best when all facilitators understand horses and possess strong facilitation skills. We partner with horses as sentient beings and equal co-facilitators. We honor the horse's voice and choice in participation. All activities are on the ground (no riding) focused on the connection of people and horses, and the horses' feedback is the heart of the learning experience, translating their wisdom for clients, when needed. Above all, horse consent, wellbeing, and the physical, emotional and energetic safety of both horses and people remain our priorities.
Your Voice and Values
We believe the strongest EAL programs are built on your voice and values, your horsemanship approach, passions, and unique perspectives. Authenticity is at the heart of effective facilitation. During the trainings, we'll explore how to weave your voice into your program so your work feels natural, aligned, and impactful.

The new terminology supports our industry with common language, although clients of these services will continue to have difficulty connecting with the industry terminology. When describing, promoting, and selling your equine programs and services to prospective clients, we highly recommend simple language that is easy for prospects to understand, i.e., "learning with horses" rather than "equine assisted learning."
