Cancelation Policy

Effective March 9, 2019; Last Updated: March 19, 2023

We understand that things happen and, if you’re unable to attend a training program, EAL Academy will accommodate your change as best we can based on the information provided here while considering the specific circumstances of your situation along with our own circumstances.

EAL Academy makes all marketing and expense decisions based on those that have registered for a training. Because we train in small groups, there's a financial impact when there's a cancelation and we no longer have adequate time to market in order to backfill your spot.
If the training program is considered full by EAL Academy and your spot can be backfilled, then EAL Academy may offer a more generous refund than outlined in this policy. This determination may be made after the training.

Please email EAL Academy (email address above) to request in writing to cancel or transfer your registration to another training.

You may cancel your training registration as follows:
  • Almost Full Refund: If the cancellation request is received in writing 42 or more days prior to the training start date, you'll be refunded the full amount paid less a refund administration fee, which includes a minimum $47 processing fee plus banking transaction fees not refunded to EAL Academy:
  1. 4% for single payments made by credit/debit card and bank transfer, through Square, Venmo, PayPal, etc.
  2. 7% for Square Afterpay purchases and other Payment Plans established with 2 or more payments.
  3. If the training curriculum has been provided (which is typically sent after this this time period), then EAL Academy will retain $347 for the Certification curriculum and $147 for the Mindfulness training curriculum.
  • Partial Refund: If the cancellation request is received in writing between 21 and 41 days prior to the training start date. EAL Academy will retain 50% of the registration price and you'll be refunded the remainder that was paid.
  • No Refund: If the cancellation request is received in writing less than 21 days prior to the training start date, there is no refund.

For unique circumstances not described above, EAL Academy will assess a refund administration fee in the amount we determine to recoup our processing costs and the value of products provided, in alignment with the specific amounts specified in this policy.
You may transfer or reschedule your training registration as follows:
  • If the training program is considered full by EAL Academy without your registration, then your registration can be transferred to a future training, provided the future training occurs within 18 months from the original training date. If there's a registration price increase, then you're required to pay the difference.
  • You may transfer your registration to another person for the same training program. An additional fee will be charged if the training curriculum was been provided to the original person registered (amounts specified above). Certification training transfers to another person must be for the entire program; daily substitution is not permitted.

EAL Academy reserves the right to cancel any training program, change program location, and change instructors. If a training program is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, that decision will be made no later than 5 weeks before the in-person training start date. If we cancel a training program for any reason, EAL Academy will provide you with the option to participate in a future training program or refund the full amount paid.

EAL Academy is not responsible for any fees or expenses incurred related to changing or canceling travel arrangements (airline reservations, rental car reservations, hotel and lodging reservations, meals, etc.).

Note: For webinars and virtual programs, recordings and materials are provided to all that register.

Only registered training attendees are allowed to be present when training is conducted and during horse activity debriefs. Unless approved in advance by EAL Academy, no one is permitted to view a training that has not registered to attend, including media coverage and filming. Anyone expecting to view a training must register by paying to attend and participate fully in the training.
