EAL Academy's Premier Program:

Become a credentialed EAL Facilitator for these types of clients:
|
- Our goal is to be simple, straightforward, and of the highest quality, so it's intentional that we offer "one and done" training experiences, with no future financial investment, although we're here to provide you with future support with your EAL program. We train in small groups so everyone participates and receives personal coaching.
- We offer accelerated trainings so you're ready to facilitate and coach EAL programs right after attending. There's pre-work to complete prior to the training. By studying materials ahead of time, there’s more time to spend learning with the horses, and for discussion of the important core topics that affect building your EAL business and facilitating your EAL programs; including marketing, business practices, safety, necessary resources, activity design, program design, etc.
- In addition to learning how to facilitate both individual and group EAL experiences, we train on somatic awareness and how the relationship between horses and humans is vital to enhance learning. Also, we offer a 1-day training focused on mindfulness and meditation programs with horses (with no prerequisites). During both trainings, some activities based on facilitating a deep connection between a client and a horse. You'll learn experientially how to do this through your own experience.
- We provide extensive training materials that include a library of forms, templates, tools, and samples, designed by EAL Academy and based on our 20+ years of experience providing our own EAL client programs and 15+ years of experience training others to facilitate EAL. This is a "business in a box" with a library that enables you to start your EAL program right after the training and make your work with clients effective, efficient, and seamless. Simply add your logo and business information to have the necessary materials for your client programs.
- With our 4-day EAL Facilitator Certification training, the path to certification is straight forward and doesn't require multiple trainings and/or steps to gain certification status. You'll experience 18 EAL Activities, plus receive additional activities with the materials. The training with horses is hands-on and you'll experientially learn how to facilitate group activities. You'll practice effective facilitation skills to lead any group - corporate training, team building, leadership development, non-profit organizations and boards, coaching, personal growth, and youth programs. All activities target group programs, and we provide a reference table indicating which activities we feel best target individual and youth experiences. You’ll learn a step-by-step process for designing and conducting powerful EAL programs that achieve client goals, deliver lasting impact, and provide amazing client experiences. You'll learn about value-added aspects that will make you stand out from your competition.
- We provide a lifetime certification that doesn't require future investments, membership or continuing education to maintain your certification status. You choose when you want to invest in continuing education and our focus is to earn your continuing education business. While we value continuing education, we don't require it for you to remain certified and we believe in earning your future education investments. This makes our program much more cost effective over time and allows you to invest in future learning that interests you most and when you want to make that investment.
- Our EAL Facilitator model is differnt, so please see the information just below.
Many attend our training after attending competitor trainings; with us they gain confidence in their facilitation skills and discover new ways to grow their EAL businesses.
We're confident that if you host 1-3 EAL programs with paying clients, you'll likely recoup your training expenses.
- We don’t require professional qualifications or degrees to be trained or certified by us. Specifically, our model does not require a licensed mental health professional as part of the EAL facilitation team and, unlike many of our competitors, we believe a mental health professional is not required to facilitate insightful and powerful learning experiences with horses. During our EAL Facilitator Certification training, we review the professional importance of staying within the learning context and we teach techniques to do so.
- Our model is based on providing learning experiences with horses, which anyone can provide. Although our training is based on an experiential coaching model (a non-therapeutic model), all the techniques and horse activities can be utilized in a therapeutic model by facilitators with the necessary credentials to offer therapeutic services.
- We recommend, but don't require, 2 or more facilitators to have the most effective facilitation team and effectively manage safety for group programs. We believe the best facilitation team is when both facilitators understand horses and have strong facilitation skills.
- With our EAL Facilitator Certification, there aren't any future requirements to maintain certification after you've attended the training and passed the Self-Test for certification as an EAL Facilitator. Certification is issued from EAL Academy based on our in-depth experience with EAL since 2003 and providing high quality EAL training and certification since 2007. We're not governed or accredited by another organization since that's not necessary or beneficial to differentiate the quality of EAL programs and facilitators. With our model, you're empowered to make the best decisions for your business and program, including investment in training and skill development; although we value continuing education, this is not required by us or a governing body.
- Most importantly, we believe the best EAL program is one built based on your voice and values. We believe the best facilitation and coaching experiences happen when you are authentically being yourself and integrating your passions. During our trainings, we'll show you how to bring this to your EAL program!
Many different names have been used for learning experiences based on the horse-human connection, some of them are:
A related field of psychotherapy/counseling with horses has been referred to by many names and here are a few:
Therapeutic Riding has been known as:
|
In 2020, the Equine-Assisted Services industry aligned terminology for services with horses in the areas of learning, psychotherapy, therapeutic riding, and horsemanship. You can learn more here. The new terminology is an improvement for our industry, although clients of these services will continue to have difficulty connecting with much of the industry terminology. When describing your business programs and services to your prospective clients, consider simple language that is easy for them to understand, i.e., "learning with horses" rather than "equine assisted learning." We cover this important topic during our training programs.
Are you a therapist looking to grow your business by offering learning programs with horses?
Many therapists are looking to expand into learning programs because Equine Assisted Learning has a stronger financial model, and many therapists find facilitating learning programs to be very rewarding. Although we teach a non-therapeutic coaching model of facilitation, two of our founders are therapists and we can help you augment your therapy business to incorporate learning programs.
EAL Academy also offers EAL coaching and mentoring services, private in-person trainings, and other training programs.Horses are sentient beings. Our programs only incorporate ground activities with horses (no riding) and a facilitation approach that focuses on the horse-human connection, where the feedback and wisdom of horses are the heart of the learning experience. |
"Horses live in the present moment; to be a great EAL facilitator we need to join them there and be courageously authentic.”
